Wednesday, October 27, 2010, held a press conference dedicated to connecting the Republican Semashko Clinical Hospital (Simferopol) to a national telemedicine network.

"One striking example of integration of the latest telecom technologies in the field of medicine is a telemedicine network, built by MTS, with the support of the Ministry of Health and the U. N. O. Office in Ukraine in the framework of the project" Mobile Health "- began the conference, Minister of Health of the Crimea Sergey Donich.

Further, took the floor the head physician of the State Clinical Research Center of Telemedicine and curator of the project "Mobile Medicine Vitaly Ostashko. He spoke about the basic features and advantages of the telemedicine network. In addition to providing comprehensive information about the project, Mr. Ostashko using stored in a center-based, patient data from all over Ukraine demonstrated an example of the transfer of medical data specialist-consultants.

Also at the press conference consultant NAISSH Rudenko Konstantin consulted one of the patients of Semashko Clinical Hospital. Specialists of the center of telemedicine operational conclusions on the screen diagnostic patient data, making the first telemedicine consultation in the Semashko hospital. was very successful.

Journalist’s questions, addressed the conference participants, primarily related to the possibility of counseling any patient, regardless of the status and position in society. Head physician of the Hospital Elena Samojlovna assured that every patient receives high-quality care, and can count, if necessary, to conduct teleconsultation any day of the week and any time of day.

Also relevant were the questions on project financing and timing of the connection of other regions of Ukraine to the national telemedicine network.

To date, telemedicine network brings together the Ministry of Health, National Clinical Research Center for Telemedicine in Kiev, Donetsk and Carpathian (Uzhgorod), regional hospitals, the National Amosov Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, now and the Republican Semashko Clinical Hospital. And in the near future telemedicine network will bring together hospitals of all regional centers of Ukraine, making it possible to significantly improve the speed and quality of care.
